When it comes to embarrassment, there are two types of people: those who swear by its merits, even the most adorable ones, and those who stay clean at all costs. Although there is a fine line between naturally glowing and questioning marks, the right products and applications can guarantee your cheeks to look average, dusty and natural. In order to hide the inner scoop from completely wiped out cheeks, we tapped the expertise of celebrity makeup artist Bailey Jean. Next, find tips for blushing your blush to mimic the natural flush of your skin.
Do a Dewy Base
"The first step to seeing cheeked makeup is to make sure your skin is smooth and hydrated," says Jen. So grab your favourite serum, oil or primer and work on creating a shiny canvas. The next step? According to the Foundation But Jane, choosing the right colour product is essential. "Make sure to use an oasis or a natural finishing foundation. This will be the easiest pairing with a shy one." The Dave & Smoot Foundation.
Choose a Creamy Texture
When you go for a natural flush in your cheeks, cream or liquid blush is the way to go. If you do not have one in your make-up bag, we recommend you wear the Mobulin New York cheek hat. "Cream products are easily absorbed into the skin," says Jane. "I suggest taking two embarrassing swipes. All you want is where the paintbrush appears on the brush or on your toes.
Product Placement Is Key
To further your embarrassment, Jane likes to warm it between her fingers before tapping the colour onto the skin. Start with the apples of the cheeks and work your way up to your shameful threshold. "Combining the top-up enhances the complexion and softens its appearance." If you are feeling ashamed and looking for more colour payoff, simply dab more products on using your fingers.
Set Everything Except Your Cheeks
We would never leave home without setting up our makeup - that's a fact. But, when it comes to preserving the glowing look of our cheeks, applying proper powder is a must. "Pay attention to the T-zone and frame of the face but leave the centre fresh and sharp," says Jane.
Tone it Down
In a dream world, we have to have the right colours and our intensity all the time, the fact is that we are bound to move forward a bit. Thankfully, we don't have to remove makeup just yet. "When this happens, I recommend applying a thin layer of foundation on the cheeks so that the blush will look," says Jane. "This creates more curtains."
